What we treat
What we treat.
Foot care isn't just about insoles. We assess the full kinetic chain — from the way your foot strikes the ground to how that affects your knees, hips, and back.
Heel pain that's worse in the morning. We address the cause — biomechanics, footwear, calf tightness — not just the symptom.
Plantar fasciitis, heel spurs, fat pad atrophy, fallen arches. Custom orthotics correct the load pattern.
Routine assessment, callus care, nail care, and prevention of ulcers. Critical for anyone with diabetes.
Conservative management, padding, footwear advice, and orthotic correction to slow progression.
Chiropodist-performed nail care, treatment of ingrown nails, and management of fungal infections.
Sport-specific orthotics for runners, court athletes, and anyone whose footwear matters for performance and injury prevention.
Our approach
A real assessment, then a real orthotic.
Cheap insoles are a guess. A custom orthotic should start with measurement and end with something you can actually feel working.
Gait analysis, foot structure, range of motion, and how your feet load through standing, walking, and running.
We capture an accurate impression of your foot using either a 3D scan or a foam/plaster cast — depending on what your case calls for.
Your orthotics are made locally to spec, with industry-leading turnaround. No outsourcing to a generic factory.
We make sure they fit properly and adjust as needed. Orthotics shouldn't take weeks to break in if they're built right.
Frequently asked questions
Common questions about orthotics
Do I need a doctor's referral?+
No referral required. You can book directly with our chiropodist in Burlington. Some insurance plans may want a doctor's prescription for reimbursement of orthotics specifically — we'll let you know what your plan needs.
Are orthotics covered by insurance?+
Most extended health benefit plans cover custom orthotics, typically once every year or two. We direct bill major Canadian insurers, including coverage for the assessment fee and the orthotics themselves.
How are these different from drugstore insoles?+
Drugstore insoles are mass-produced for an average foot. Custom orthotics are built for your foot specifically, based on a biomechanical assessment and accurate impression. They correct loading patterns rather than just adding cushion.
How long do custom orthotics last?+
Typically 2-3 years with regular wear, longer if you rotate them between shoes. We can refurbish or remake them when they're no longer doing their job.
