Workplace Injury Rehab (WSIB)

Injured at work? Let's get you back to it.

WSIB Physiotherapy in Burlington, Ontario

A workplace injury comes with pain, paperwork, and pressure to get back. Our physiotherapists treat the injury, bill WSIB directly, and build a graded return-to-work plan that protects your recovery.

What we treat

The injuries we see from work.

From a single bad lift to years of repetition — if it happened at work or because of work, it likely qualifies for WSIB coverage.

Lifting & Back Injuries

Strains, disc irritation, and acute low-back pain from lifting, carrying, or awkward positions — the most common workplace injury we treat.

Repetitive Strain Injuries

Tendinopathy, carpal tunnel symptoms, and overuse pain from repetitive tasks — assembly, keyboarding, tools, and trades work.

Shoulder Injuries

Rotator cuff strains and impingement from overhead work, reaching, and pulling.

Knee & Ankle Injuries

Sprains, meniscus irritation, and falls on the job — from ladders, stairs, uneven ground, or slips.

Fractures After Casting

Restoring strength and motion once the cast comes off, so you return to full duties safely.

Return-to-Work Conditioning

Graded strengthening and task-specific conditioning when you're cleared for modified duties but not yet ready for full ones.

Our approach

How a WSIB claim works with us.

You don't need to have everything figured out before booking — we do this every week and will help you get the pieces in place.

1
Report your injury

Tell your employer about the injury and file your WSIB claim. If you're not sure where to start, call us — we'll walk you through it.

2
Assessment & reporting

A thorough physiotherapy assessment documents your injury and functional limits. We complete the WSIB reporting from our side and bill WSIB directly.

3
Treatment plan

Hands-on therapy and progressive exercise focused on the demands of your actual job — not a generic protocol.

4
Graded return to work

We progress you through modified duties toward full duties, with clear milestones — so you go back once, not back and forth.

Frequently asked questions

Common WSIB questions

Does WSIB cover my physiotherapy?+

Yes — physiotherapy for an approved WSIB claim is covered, and we bill WSIB directly, so there's no cost to you. Bring your claim number to your first visit. If your claim is still being set up, call us at (905) 635-5711 and we'll help you figure out the timing.

Do I need a doctor's referral for WSIB physiotherapy?+

No referral is needed to book with us. You do need a WSIB claim (reported to your employer and filed with WSIB). Many people see their doctor after a workplace injury as part of that process, but you can start physiotherapy without a referral.

Can I choose my own physiotherapy clinic for a WSIB injury?+

Yes. In Ontario you have the right to choose your health care provider for a workplace injury. If you'd like to be treated at OMNI, tell WSIB and your employer that we're your clinic — we'll take it from there.

What if I'm on modified duties?+

Modified duties and treatment work together. We coordinate your treatment plan with your functional abilities, document what you can safely do as it changes, and progress you toward full duties at a pace your injury can hold.

What should I bring to my first visit?+

Your WSIB claim number, your employer's information, and any paperwork you've received about the injury. Wear something comfortable you can move in. If you don't have a claim number yet, come anyway — we'll help you sort out the next step.

What if my injury was from a car accident instead?+

Collisions run through your auto insurance rather than WSIB — and we handle those too, including direct billing to your auto insurer. See our car accident (MVA) page, or call us and we'll point you the right way.
